(recommended for students in grades 3 and up, or any students that have some practice reading music) An interactive story for students in grades K-3. Join Robbie and his dog, Curly, as they discover new sounds and instruments while solving the mystery of the missing music!
This website has some games to practice reading rhythms and pitches, as well as coloring book pages to print, and some sheet music for songs you can play.
(Games recommended for students in grades 3 and up, but the coloring book pages and mini-lessons are appropriate for students in grades 1-2, as well.) Composition games, information on composers, and podcasts of famous pieces of music are just a few of the things you can find on this extensive website.
The San Francisco Symphony Orchestra's kids' section is a colorful introduction to instruments of the orchestra. The "radio" page is full of exciting pieces to listen to, with accompanying background information and concise explanations of each piece.
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra has a kids' section similar to that of SFSO.
